I’ve worked briefly only some visual image processing for detecting the contribution of melanin and hemoglobin pigments to facial skin-tone.  This may be used in a wider context for using automated visual inspection of face images to detect acute or developing health issues.  Other technologies include heart beat using video amplification and algorithms used in emotion-detection for monitoring facial affect.
